UniHeat Shipping Warmers are specifically designed for shipping temperature items such as reptiles, insects, plants, aquarium fish, etc. Combined with insulated shipping boxes these are a great choice for winter or cold weather shipping. Please follow directions on the packaging for best results!
Provides an averafe warmer surface temperature of 100F (38C)
- Open outer package and expose pack to air. Shake gently to loosen firmly packed contents.
- For best results, individually wrap warmers loosely with a piece of newspaper or place inside a paper bag. Place wrapped warmers along walls of the shipping box or between containers within the shipping box. Make sure to create space between shipped item and warmer with space filler or newspaper.
- If wrapping with paper is not desired, warmers can be placed directly in the shipping box with the red-striped side facing up. Or tape warmers to the inside of the box lid with the NON red-striped side facing the lid. DO NOT cover the venting holes located along the red stripe.
- For shipping live crickets, simply place warmers in between layers of egg cartons.
Notes:
- Preheating before usage is not necessary. The warmer will heat up after 30 to 45 minutes if kept in an enclosed space like wrapped in paper or placed inside shipping box without covering the venting holes along the red stripe.
- One warmer can generally raise approximately 10F to 12F degrees in a cubic foot insulated box. Multiple warmers can be used if higher temperature is desired.
- Warmer can reach its peak surface temperature of 115F (46C) in approximately 4 hours then slowly reduce to and maintain a surface temperature of 100F (38C) for the remaining duration.
- Warmer may stop generating heat if temperature inside the shipping box falls below freezing at 32F (0C). This may be avoided by using two insulated boxes. Place additional warmers in between two boxes, along with bubble wrap or space filler. During very cold weather, multiple warmers should be used for each shipping box. We do not recommend shipping in extremely cold weather unless the shipping method has been confirmed by trial tests.
- Warmer will not be effective if wet. Do not open until ready to use. Do not use if warmer is rigid.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Store in cool and dry place. Ideal temperature for storage is 68F (20C) - 50F (10C).
- Environmentally safe with non-toxic ingredients. Can be disposed with normal trash.
- Shipping methods and requirements vary with each company. Each shipper should perform trial tests to establish the appropriate set up.
- Warmers available in 20+, 30+, 40+, 60+ and 72 hours. Shorter-duration warmers will release higher surface temperature and reach peak temperature sooner.
Caution:
- Product for small pets shipping industry use only.
- Ship at your own risk during extremely cold weather.
- Do not open inner pack. If the contents come into contact with skin, eyes, or mouth, flush with cold water then contact a physician.
- Keep out of reach of children
